The 9th International Conference on Sustainable Solid Waste Management is organized by the Municipality of Central Corfu and Diapontia Islands in collaboration with the National Technical University of Athens with the participation of dozens of scientists from all over the world. The work of the conference will be held June 15-17 at the Municipal Theater of Corfu, while the conference is preceded by a two-day summer school (Summer School) June 13-14 that focuses on the sustainable management of solid waste and the circular economy.

The 9th International Conference on Sustainable Solid Waste Management – Corfu-2022 is one of the largest and most recognized conferences at the European and global level focusing on the scientific field of Waste Management, the Circular Economy, and saving resources, placing the island of Corfu at the center of global scientific attention.

At the conference, whose scientific head from the N.T.U.A. is Mrs. Maria Loizidou, more than 750 participants from all over the world participate, with a physical or/and online presence.

It is noted that this specific action is part of the participation of the Municipality of Central Corfu and the Diapontia Islands in the “100 Intelligent Cities Challenge” programme of the European Commission, where the Municipality participates with the main axe of “Waste Management and the Circular Economy” and is represented by Deputy Mayor of European Programmes, Development and Digital Governance as well as the Project Manager of the local ICC team, Panagiota Tzanne and the Scientific Advisor and Assistant Project Manager of the local ICC team, Victor Dimoulis.
