The digital services now provided by the Municipality of Central Corfu and Diapontia Islands were presented at the conference of the Central Union of Municipalities of Greece by Mayor Meropi Ydraiou. At the same time, the Mayor submitted an important proposal that concerns the entire island of Corfu and from which the other two municipalities can also benefit.

Stating that large municipalities with a population of over 100,000 inhabitants can be financed for their digital transformation from the Recovery Fund, with a total of 90 million euros, while the rest of the municipalities can be financed by the NSRF with a total of 230 million euros, Meropi Ydraiou emphasized: “I propose that Municipalities of a single geographical group that was a single municipality but were split can also be included in the financing from the Recovery Fund. And I am referring to Corfu, where digital transformation actions could be financed and implemented throughout the island, which will serve the concept of metropolitan self-government with services for the entire island.”

As mentioned above, the Mayor presented to the representatives of the self-government the digital services that the Municipality of Central Corfu and Diapontia Islands now offers to the citizens, among which are:
