Pilot application of a "Pay Αs Υou Τhrow - PΑΥΤ" scheme - Recycle Guide | Municipality of Central Corfu and Diapontian islands

An application has been submitted for the selection of our Municipality in the specific programme which includes the strict pilot application (with a maximum population of up to 7,000 inhabitants) of "Pay As You Throw" with the aim of functioning as an incentive for increasing "Sorting at Source" and at the same time as a disincentive, which will help to reduce the residual waste at the municipal level.

More specifically, the available technologies and "Pay As You Throw" schemes will be examined and the appropriate one will be selected for pilot application in the Municipality of Central Corfu and Diapontia Islands, which in this case:

a) they will not charge users (it will be virtual pricing)

b) they are not of a financial nature, i.e. they do not provide the beneficiary with the possibility of generating income (this will be a virtual invoicing) and

c) are not linked to any financial activity (for example there will be no advertising possibilities).
