As every year since 2015, this year’s Climathon will be organized and held in dozens of cities and countries around the world.

Climathon is an action by EIT Climate-KIC supported by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology and aims to strengthen the local initiatives in order to tackle climate change.

For the first time, the island of Corfu will actively participate in this global event of public awareness on tackling climate change and will host a 24-hour online Climathon marathon to enable the island’s citizens to become active, to propose, to inspire, and to create innovative solutions towards global environmental challenges.

The local team of Mindspace together with Garbage Art Corfu in co-organization with the Municipality of Central Corfu and the Diapontian Islands and the research center “Athena”, will undertake the Climathon in Corfu on 21-22 November under the general theme “the reduction of plastic pollution, with an emphasis on Single-Use Plastic – SUP in HO.RE.CA.”

That’s why we invite everybody, regardless of their age, who are interested and wish to participate in CLIMATHON CORFU 2020 with unique essential ingredients for their participation, their creativity but above all their good mood.

The most active and inspiring ideas that will be proposed, will be promoted on the global platform of Climathon and will have the opportunity to be awarded on 21 January 2021 in a special online event.
